Punjab Weather: Slight dip in average temperature, IMD predicts yellow alert in these districts

After a slight change in the weather in Punjab on Monday, a slight drop in temperature has been observed. The maximum average temperature of the state saw a decrease of 1.3 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, Yellow alert regarding rain in Punjab has been issued for today and for the next 3 days. It is estimated that there may be good rain in these four days. Its should be noted that this time Monsoon has went dry and Punjab has been named in states with rainfall deficiency.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued in 5 districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Rupnagar. Rain is also expected in other districts of Punjab.

On Wednesday, an orange alert was issued in 7 districts of Punjab and a yellow alert in 9 districts regarding rain. During this time, while the monsoon is active, rain is expected in most areas of Punjab due to Western Disturbance.

The temperature of Punjab has been running around 40 degrees for the last 5 days. The temperature of Bathinda was once again recorded at 39.8 degrees. At the same time, the temperature of Mohali was recorded at 38.1 degrees. Apart from this, in the last 24 hours, 1 mm rain was recorded in Amritsar and 4 mm rain was recorded in Pathankot.

People are hoping for rain in Punjab as it would bring respite from high levels of humidity and heat.
