A yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in Punjab today (Monday). Visibility may be less than 50 meters in many areas. As per IMD, At present, there will not be much temperature change but in the coming few days, a slight increase in temperature can be recorded.
According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is becoming active today. Due to this a big change will be seen in the weather. According to the Meteorological Center, a yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Patiala and Malerkotla in Punjab today. It is expected that there will be dense fog here. At the same time, there are chances of rain in some areas of Malwa region.
The western disturbance, which became active on February 1, remains in the Pakistan region in the form of cyclonic circulation. While the another circulation is also on the Rajasthan border. This is the reason why the effect of fog is being seen in the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is becoming active today. After which, there are chances of rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand till February 5. At the same time, rain is expected in the plains tomorrow, February 4, and February 5.
