Chandigarh: The temperature of Punjab and Chandigarh is continuously falling. On Sunday, the temperature of Punjab decreased by 1.6 degrees and that of Chandigarh by 2.6 degrees. This decrease will continue in the coming days as well. Today, apart from Chandigarh, an alert regarding fog in Punjab has been issued. Along with this, there is also a possibility of rain in Punjab due to western disturbance.
Actually, Western Disturbance is active in the state. Due to this rain and snowfall were recorded in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Due to this there was a decrease in the temperature of Punjab. At the same time, due to this western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in many districts of Punjab.
Apart from this, there is a fog alert in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, SAS Nagar and Malerkotla of Punjab.
The alert regarding fog in Punjab and Chandigarh has been issued till today only. But from December 11, the cold will start tormenting. Snowfall is occurring in the hill districts adjoining Punjab-Chandigarh. Cold winds are now moving from the mountains towards the plains. Due to this the cold will increase further. The Meteorological Department has now issued a yellow alert for a cold wave from December 11 and onwards.
