A yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in Punjab today i.e. Friday. Visibility may go below 50 meters in some districts here. The weather is expected to be clear in Chandigarh. According to the Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance has become active, but its effect will be less visible in Punjab-Chandigarh.
There is no possibility of rain in the coming week but after snowfall in the mountains, the cold will increase in the plains. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a yellow alert regarding fog in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur and Patiala of Punjab.
After today, Punjab will once again get relief from fog. At the same time, the cold has increased at night in Punjab-Chandigarh, after which the temperature has become normal. The maximum temperature of the day is found to be 2 degrees more than normal.
The Supreme Court on Thursday reprimanded the Punjab and Haryana governments for slow action on the issue of stubble burning. The court cited a media report in which a land records officer and the president of the Block Patwari Union of Sangrur district of Punjab had allegedly advised farmers to burn stubble after 4 pm, so that it could not be detected by satellite.
The court termed it a “very serious” matter and directed the Punjab government to stop such officers from such activities. The Punjab government should immediately ensure that no officer gives such advice to farmers.
The wind in Punjab is once again blowing from east to north. Due to this the air of Punjab has become more polluted. At the same time, Sector 53 of Chandigarh was 5 times more polluted than normal today. The same is the condition of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala of Punjab, where the Air Quality Index is more than 200. While the pollution level has reached 200 in other districts of Punjab apart from Sector 22 and 25 of Chandigarh.
