Punjab Weather Update: Cold winds bring temperature down, no alert for rain

After snowfall in the mountains, the cold has increased in Punjab. Winds are blowing at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers in the areas adjoining Himachal Pradesh. Due to this the minimum temperature has dropped by 0.4 degrees and the maximum temperature by 3.3 degrees. However, people are getting some relief due to clear skies and sunshine.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain in the coming week nor is the western disturbance becoming active. Due to which there will be good sunshine throughout the week. But the cold increased due to snowfall in the last few days will now start decreasing. The temperature will increase every day.

According to the estimate of the Meteorological Center, the temperature of the cities of Punjab will be around or above 30 degrees in the coming week.

Strong winds have been blowing in the cities of Punjab for the last two days. While the winds coming from the mountains are increasing the cold in the areas adjoining Himachal, strong winds are coming from Pakistan in the Malwa region. The wind speed in Amritsar is around 11 kilometres per hour, in Ludhiana it is 9.5 kilometres and in Patiala it is around 15 kilometres per hour.
