The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of a heat wave in 12 districts and an orange alert in four districts today on Wednesday. Now the heat will increase at night as well. According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance has become active from today. In such a situation, light to moderate rain may occur at some places in the state on 9, 10 and 11 April.

While a yellow alert has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, Gurdaspur and Patiala. Health Department Director Dr. Hitinder Kaur has given strict instructions to all civil surgeons to ensure that all hospitals have proper arrangements for patients affected by heat. Apart from this, necessary beds have been reserved from district hospitals to CHC and PHC level, where health services are available 24 hours a day.
