Punjab Weather Update: IMD issues yellow alert of heat wave in 17 districts

There is severe heat in Punjab and Chandigarh. The temperature of the state has reached 41.9 degrees. In the last 24 hours, the temperature has increased by 1.2 degrees. It has been 6.2 degrees above normal. At the same time, today the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of heat wave at some places in 17 districts.

On the other hand, the temperature of Chandigarh has also reached 37.4 degrees. An increase of two degrees has been recorded in it. In such a situation, people should try to avoid coming in direct contact with sunlight.

Western Disturbance will be active from today

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain hot today. During this time, heat wave will run mainly in Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Moga, Ludhiana, Mohali, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, Patiala and Sangrur. However, a Western Disturbance will be active from today. This will affect the weather of the area adjoining the Himalayas.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the next two-three days. However, after that the temperature will fall. Heat wave will prevail on 8, 9 and 10. While on the 10th there will be some lightning and thunder. During this time, the weather will change, there will be chances of rain. The weather will change again after the 11th.
