Punjab Weather Update: IMD predicts rain in 10 districts, heatwave alert in 9

The impact of the change in weather in Punjab on Wednesday night was also seen on Thursday. The maximum temperature has dropped by an average of 4.6 degrees Celsius. This is 2.4 degrees Celsius below normal. However, the effect of heat still persists in some parts of the state. Rain is likely to occur in 10 districts of Punjab today, while a heatwave alert has been issued in 9 districts.

According to the Meteorological Center, Bathinda and Abohar were the hottest cities in terms of maximum temperature on Thursday. The temperature here was recorded at 42.5 degrees Celsius.

Heatwave warning: An orange alert has been issued for heatwave in Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda and Mansa. While Moga, Barnala and Sangrur are the cities where yellow alert has been issued.

Thunderstorm warning: Rain and strong winds are likely in several districts, including Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Mohali, Nawanshahr, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Rupnagar. Meanwhile, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala are the three districts where rain warnings have been issued, and the effects of the heat wave are also being felt here.
