Punjab Weather Update: Nautapa from tomorrow, rain alert for 12 districts by IMD

Nautapa in Punjab is starting tomorrow, i.e., 25 May 2025, which will last till 2 June. But its effect will be visible from today itself. Today, 12 districts of Punjab will receive rain, and 4 districts will experience the effects of heat wave. Temperatures in Punjab are likely to increase rapidly during Nautapa

In fact, during Natapa, the intensity of the sun increases, due to which this time is very hot. It is believed that if there is a lot of heat during the days of Nautapa, then the monsoon is good. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Chandigarh, the maximum temperature in the state increased by 1.1 degrees Celsius, although it was still 1.6 degrees below normal. Despite this, the temperature in Bathinda reached 42 degrees Celsius, which is the highest in the state.

According to the Meteorological Department’s warning, many districts of Punjab are likely to experience hot nights with lightning, strong winds and strong sunshine.
May 24: Rain and strong winds are likely in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr and Ropar. While, heat-wave alert has been issued for both day and night in Fazilka, Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda and Mansa.

May 25: Rain is likely in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali. While other districts will see the effect of heat wave during the day and night.

May 26: Rain and strong winds have been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and Mohali. The weather will remain normal in the remaining parts of the state.
