Punjab Weather Update: Rain likely on Holi in 10 districts

There is a possibility of rain in Punjab on Holi. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 10 districts. This change in the weather is being seen due to the western disturbance that became active from March 9. However, after the bright sunshine for the last few days, an increase in temperature is being seen. Despite no major change in temperature in 24 hours, the temperature is seen to be 4.2 degrees higher than normal.

According to the Meteorological Center, this alert has been issued today in 10 districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar and Fatehgarh Sahib. It is estimated that heavy rain and storm may occur in these districts today. At the same time, there is a possibility of a decrease in temperature today.

The effect of the new western disturbance that became active from March 9 was first seen in the hilly areas. But from yesterday, a yellow alert has been issued in Punjab regarding rain and storm. This alert is expected to remain active till March 16.

During this period, the temperature in Punjab is expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees. Due to which there is a possibility of getting some relief from the rising heat.
