By yesterday evening, 9.5 MM rain was recorded in Pathankot and 2 MM in Amritsar. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued in Punjab today on Thursday regarding strong winds, storm and rain. Strong winds are expected to blow at a speed of 40 kilometers in many districts.
After Amritsar and Pathankot yesterday evening, there is news of strong winds and rain in Patiala, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Chandigarh, Rupnagar, SBS Nagar and Hoshiarpur. After which the maximum temperature of Punjab has also dropped by an average of 0.4 degrees. After today, the situation in Punjab will become normal from Friday. Due to rain, the temperature is also expected to remain normal.
After two days of rain and strong winds, people will be getting relief from the heat on June 21 and 22. But after June 23, a heatwave alert has been issued once again in Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding heatwave in Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Mansa and Bathinda of Western Malwa and adjoining Rajasthan.
