Punjab Weather Update: Thunderstorm and rain alert in 13 districts today

Monsoon has entered Punjab. Conditions are favorable for further advancement of monsoon in the next 36 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow and orange alerts for heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds in most districts of the state till June 30.

While the Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph in Mohali and Patiala till 10 am today. In the last 24 hours, the average maximum temperature of the state has dropped by 2.4 degrees,

which is now 3.9 degrees below normal. The highest temperature of 40 degrees has been recorded in Bathinda. Earlier on Tuesday, the highest rainfall of 14 mm was recorded in Ropar. While 13 mm rain was recorded in Thein Dam Area of ​​Pathankot, 2 mm in Patiala. While 71 mm rain was recorded in Ludhiana in 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall at most places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and Mohali.

Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala: Light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places.

Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa and Sangrur: Light to moderate rainfall is likely at some places.

Apart from this, thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rainfall are expected at isolated places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.
