Punjab Weather Update: Western disturbance ends, 46% less than normal rainfall recorded

After the western disturbance slowed down, its effect in Punjab started to end. The state had no rain in the last 24 hours and the sun was shining. After this, the average maximum temperature in the state increased by 3.9 degrees Celsius, although it was still close to normal.

The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius in Patiala. According to the Meteorological Center, now the temperature of the state will increase. In the next 48 hours, the maximum average temperature of the state can see an increase of 2 to 3 degrees. At the same time, there is no possibility of rain in the state in the coming one week nor is the effect of any western disturbance being seen.

In the year 2024, less than-normal rainfall was recorded in Punjab. The Meteorological Department has placed the state in the red zone. But this year also the rainfall is much less than normal. Talking about the first 15 days of the month of March, 46 percent less rainfall has been recorded in the state.

The state receives an average of 14 mm rainfall in the first 15 days of March, but this year only 7.6 mm rainfall has been recorded. Talking about the month of February, the state recorded 21.6 mm rainfall, while the state normally receives 27.1 mm rainfall, which is 20 percent less than normal.
