Punjabi youth dies in Armenia of heart attack while going to work

Shahpur: A youth from Punjab died of a heart attack in Armenia. The deceased has been identified as Varinder Singh, a resident of Shahpur (Ghataur) village of Kurali Majri in Mohali district. The family of the deceased youth has appealed to the Punjab and Central Government for help to bring the body to India.

Varinder’s elder brother Rohit Singh, son of Paramjit Singh said that his brother went to Armenia in search of employment in 2018. Varinder used to work in a farm house there. On November 19, he was going to his work when he suffered a heart attack in the afternoon.

Virendra lay on the road for about 5 hours, by the time he was taken to the hospital he had died. Rohit Singh has appealed to the Punjab Government and the Ministry of External Affairs to help bring Virendra’s body to the village.

Rohit Singh told that a travel agent from Amritsar had sent Virendra abroad. In return, about Rs 18 lakh was taken from him. Virendra was supposed to be sent to Japan but he was sent to Armenia. From there, he was told that he would be sent to Japan. Deceased Virendra was upset for a long time due to not being able to go to Japan.
