Punjab’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ Campaign: Illegal Drug Peddler’s Encroachment Demolished in Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur: Under Punjab Government’s ongoing ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign, the Hoshiarpur District Administration in coordination with District Police today got an encroachment of a woman indulged in drug peddling at village Nainowal Vaid demolished in presence of village Panchayat.

SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik while interacting to media informed that the accused who owned the house named Gurmeet Kaur w/o Balwinder Singh, residing in Nainowal Vaid, has been illegally encroached on Panchayat common land. He said that despite several requests from the Village Panchayat to vacate the land, she didn’t vacate land.

As a result, the Village Panchayat escalated the issue to the BDPO Hoshiarpur-1, who, in turn, requested the DDPO Hoshiarpur to take action for the demolition of the encroachment. Concerned about law and order, the DDPO sought assistance from the police to ensure the demolition could proceed smoothly.

Today, with police support, the civil administration has removed the illegal encroachment. It is also worth noting that Gurmeet Kaur has a criminal history, having been involved in 08 cases related to drugs, while she was convicted in three cases.
