Patiala: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Amargarh Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra has got bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the money laundering case registered by the ED. He will be released from jail today,i.e. Tuesday, after about 11 months. He will come out of jail from 3.30 pm. Cabinet Minister Taranpreet Singh Saundh will be present to welcome him when he comes out of jail.
Apart from this, other party leaders and volunteers will also be present. MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra has a bank fraud case of about 41 crores registered against him. He was arrested by the ED on 6 December 2023. He has been in jail since then.
During the raid, Rs 32 lakh in cash, some mobiles and hard drives were seized from his hideouts. However, he went from Mohali District Court to the Supreme Court for bail. After this he withdrew the application from the Supreme Court.
AAP MLA Gajjan Majra has been lodged in Nabha jail since his arrest. However, some time ago he slipped and fell in the jail. Then he had to be admitted to the hospital. After this, when he fell ill, he was admitted to the hospital. At that time, opposition parties had raised questions that the government was giving him VIP treatment by admitting him to the hospital on the pretext of illness. However, after the matter heated up, he was sent to jail.
