Relief to Aman Arora as Sessions court gives permission to hoist tricolor on Republic Day

The court has put an end to the rumors going on about whether Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora will be able to hoist the tricolor on Republic Day or not. The District and Sessions Court, Sangrur, has given relief to the Cabinet Minister from the two-year sentence given by him in a case received from the Sunam Court, which has been challenged in the higher court, and has allowed him to hoist the tricolor.

The court has given great relief to the cabinet minister by giving him permission to hoist the tricolor. Let us tell you that Minister Aman Arora had a family dispute with his brother-in-law Rajinder Deepa. After 15 years, Sunam’s court, while giving its verdict on this dispute which was filed in the court in 2008, had found Minister Aman Arora guilty and sentenced him to two years imprisonment.

After the cabinet minister was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by Sunam Sub Division Court, Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit raised questions and asked the government as to why his membership from the assembly has not been canceled yet. Meanwhile, the list of two ministers to hoist the tricolor on Republic Day was released and the name of Minister Aman Arora was also there in it.

Supreme Court’s Lily Thomas case was cited

Questions began to arise as to how he could hoist the tricolor after being sentenced by the court. But Aman Arora, a lawyer by profession, challenged his sentence in the sessions court. The court had suspended the sentence considering the appeal as filed. After this, Aman Arora had filed an appeal regarding hoisting the tricolor, on which the court has given its approval.
