Ludhiana: In the matter of rodents menace at the civil hospital Ludhiana, State Human Rights Commission has taken suo-moto cognizance. The commission has ordered the principal secretary of Health Punjab, Civil Surgeon Ludhiana, and DC Ludhiana to submit their reports before the next date of hearing on May 22.

Yesterday video from Civil Hospital Ludhiana went viral in which rats were seen creating havoc in the maternity ward of the hospital. As per the patients, rats jump on their beds during the night following which the patients have to spend the entire night awake.
Rats menace has made stay of patients next to impossible. Large number of rats in the mother-child care unit raises serious questions on the hygiene conditions of the hospital.
