RPG-IED, hand grenades found in forests of Punjab; DGP Yadav calls it ‘bid to revive sleeper cells’

In a major breakthrough against ISI-backed cross-border terror networks, SSOC Amritsar, in a joint operation with a central agency, recovered a cache of terrorist hardware.  The SSOC team, along with a team of the central agency, carried out the intelligence-led operation in the forested area near Tibba Nangal–Kular Road, SBS Nagar. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurrab Yadav through a post on X. 

In this operation, police recovered 2 Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs), 2 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along with 5 P-86 Hand Grenades. The recovery also includes one Wireless Communication Set. 

Preliminary probe by the police indicates a coordinated operation by Pakistan ISI and allied terror outfits to revive sleeper cells in Punjab. An FIR underthe  relevant provisions of law has been registered at PS State Special Operation Cell SSOC Amritsar.

DGP Yadav assured that the Punjab Police remains committed to safeguarding national security and dismantling terror infrastructure in the state.
