Chandigarh Immigration firm owner arrested for Rs 1.65 core fraud: 7 cases filed, white scorpio seized

Chandigarh: Sector 17 police station of Chandigarh arrested the owner of the immigration company on Friday. There were 33 different complaints against it by the police. In these complaints, there is an allegation of fraud of about Rs 1.65 crore. Police have seized the white Scorpio car of the accused in the case.

About seven cases have been registered against the accused earlier as well. The accused has been identified as Ravinder Singh, alias Ravi Saab, a resident of Kharar Mohali. Police have registered a case against the accused under different sections.

In the initial investigation, the police came to know that the accused Ravindra used to run an immigration office in Sector 17 with his uncle Manpreet Singh Brar. They used to lure people to get study visas through social media.

They also used to lure people to get education loans for children. Later, they used to cheat people by giving fake offer letters. Instead of getting visas for the youths to go abroad, they used to keep their passports with themselves and forcibly extort money from them. The police have received many such complaints against them.

Initially, the accused used to take only 40 thousand rupees in the name of registration to trap people. After this, they used to prepare fake offer letters. Then, in the name of education loans, they used to take blank checks, land registration papers, and other documents from the children.

After this, they used to ask for a fee of about 6 lakh rupees to send them abroad. During the investigation, the police also found out that the accused had not taken any license to open an immigration office. They were fraudulently running this business.
