Women and children in police custody in Hoshiarpur

Punjab: A shameful incident of Dasuha police has come to light, where the protesters accused Dasuha police of keeping a 3-year-old girl and another minor child in custody for 2 hours in the police station.

However, Dasuha police is denying this. Police says that the protesters themselves entered the police station with force and made the video viral from here. At the same time, the protesters say that on the pretext of stopping the protesters, Dasuha police kept women and children sitting inside the police station by force.

Paramjit Singh Bhula, District President of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab, said that more than 2 dozen men and women were going to sit in front of Dasuha police station today regarding the mining going on in the area. Slogans were being raised against the mafia regarding the collusion of Dasuha police station with illegal mining.

During the sloganeering, the police party including station incharge Dasuha took the women and their small children into custody on the pretext of talking.

The video of this is also going viral. In which it can be seen that the women kept pleading inside the police station that their children were small, but the station incharge of Dasuha did not listen to them. A police officer kept asking the names and addresses of the detained protesters.

After about 2 hours, the Deputy Captain Dasuha and the station incharge talked to the protesting leader and assured them of resolving the problem, after which everyone was released.

Dasuha’s Deputy Captain Jagdish Raj said that the people who came to protest against mining were stopped for talks. But all the men and women entered the police station by force, from where the video of their children sitting in the police station went viral. At the same time, he told that no force was used by the police with the protesters, women and children.
