Chandigarh: Big news is coming out from the politics of Punjab. The Shiromani Akali Dal will not contest the by-elections. After the working committee meeting of Akali Dal under the leadership of working president Balwinder Singh Bhundar, senior leader Daljit Singh Cheema said that an important meeting of the working committee, constituency in-charges and district presidents was held.
The party has decided that this time candidates will not be fielded for the by-elections to be held on 4 seats. In the meeting, there was a discussion about the four assembly elections and the election of the SGPC president.
He further said that Conspiracies are also underway to make the Akali Dal leaderless.
Earlier, The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib made a statement in the media that Sukhbir Singh Badal cannot campaign and decision will be made after diwali. Today in the meeting of SAD it was decided that SAD will not take part in the by-elections on 4 seats.
