Amritsar: In a shocker from Amritsar, an 85-year-old man raped a 9-year-old girl living near his house. When the people of the locality came to know about this, they beat him up and took him to the police station. People have been demanding to apply POCSO Act on him.
An 85-year-old man living near the house in Baba Deep Singh Colony on Fatehgarh Chudiyan allegedly Road raped a 9-year-old girl. The girl was vomiting continuously after which she told her mother and the mother talked to the people of the locality.
After this, the news spread in the entire locality and people first beat up the old man and then caught him and brought him to Sadar police station. The girl’s father is a gardener who is very poor, while the accused is retired from the post of gardener and works in people’s houses.
The incident was also reported to the Nihangs, after which all of them gathered at the police station where a case was registered against the accused by the police. According to the people of the locality, the houses of the accused and the girl are together and they have a lot of visits. Both of them are migrants and their ancestral homes are also together but the old man did not think even once before doing such a thing.
The police has assured the family of full action in this case. The Nihangs say that the police are cooperating fully and soon the POCSO Act will be imposed on the accused.
