Two brothers riding a bike were hit by a trolley at Focal Point under police station number 8 in Jalandhar. One person died and the other was seriously injured in the collision. The deceased has been identified as Ravi Kumar, a resident of Kartarpur while Pradeep was seriously injured in the accident. After the accident, the trolley driver fled the spot and the police of police station number 8 reached the spot and started investigating the matter.
According to the information received, Pradeep used to work in a factory located in Focal Point with his brother Ravi Kumar. Both had left home on the same motorcycle from Kartarpur to the Focal Point factory on Monday evening. As soon as they reached near Focal Point, a speeding trolley driver passing by hit them.
During the collision, both fell and one of the trolley’s tires ran over Ravi, killing him on the spot. Pradeep Kumar narrowly escaped but sustained serious injuries. After the accident, the people present at the spot informed the police of the concerned police station.
After receiving the information, Gurmukh Singh, in-charge of Police Station 8, reached the spot along with his team. He took the body into his possession and kept it in the Civil Hospital for postmortem and started the investigation.
He said that after the accident, the trolley driver fled from the spot. His team will take appropriate action on the statements of the victim’s family and will soon arrest the accused.
