Speeding vehicle hits two youth in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: In a tragic incident last night, an unknown driver hit two young persons on the highway near Shiv Puri and Jodhewal Basti Chowk in Ludhiana, Punjab. Both of them were crossing the road when the accident happened. The intensity of the clash can be understood by the fact that both the youths fell about 10 feet away after the vehicle crashed into them.

The youths kept writhing in pain on the road for about half an hour. Passersby kept making videos instead of helping them. One youth’s head hit the divider while the other youth’s head hit the ground.

Giving information, Anil Sharma, working in Municipal Corporation Zone-B, said that he was returning home from a function with his family. On the way, he saw two youths soaked in blood. He took care of both the injured with the help of passerby Harmeet Singh. He immediately called the ambulance for help from the spot, but the ambulance driver said he was busy.

Anil told that he himself brought the injured to the hospital by loading them in auto driver. The injured have been identified as Balbir resident of Piru Banda Mohalla Salem Tabri and Upinder.

According to the doctors, Balbir’s condition is very serious. He is being referred to PGI. Upinder has suffered a head injury. He is currently admitted to the civil hospital. Right now he is not able to tell anything about his family. The hospital administration will inform the police of Basti Jodhewal police station about the incident.
