Chandigarh, July 21, 2025: After Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal said in his recent statement that “A mistake may be made, but the Akali Dal should not be punished for my mistake. If the Akali Dal survives, then Punjab will survive. If you want to save the future of your children, then strengthen the Akali Dal”, Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has given him a direct message that if the mistake is only his, then he should separate from the party
Giani Harpreet Singh said through his tweet:
“If Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal believes that the mistake is his, and not the Akali Dal, then he should immediately leave the Akali Dal, because due to his mistake, the entire Akali Dal and the Panth are suffering.”
ਜੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਗਲਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਕੋਲੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸਮੁੱਚਾ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਥ ਭੁਗਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ, ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ ਨੀ ਸੁਣੀ।

He further said that Sukhbir Singh Badal in his arrogance ignored the voice of Akal Takht Sahib and the Panth.
“Just as wisdom lies in removing the weight to save a sinking boat, similarly, Sukhbir Singh Badal has not only made mistakes, but he is still doing them and may do more in the future.”
Giani Harpreet Singh appealed in the end that for the welfare of the Panth and Punjab, Sukhbir Badal should resign so that the Akali Dal can breathe freely and become the voice of Punjab again.
Now it remains to be seen whether Sukhbir Badal will maintain his position or take a big step under pressure.
