Surge in Dengue cases: 34 new cases reported in Mohali, total tally reaches 745

Mohali: After dysentery in District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), cases of dengue are now on rise. 34 more new cases have been reported today. Now the number of dengue victims in the city has increased to 745. District Epidemiologist Dr. Harmandeep Kaur Brar said that 3940 houses were surveyed in the entire district including Mohali and dengue larvae were found in 61 houses.

17,221 containers were checked at different places by the inspecting teams. Dengue larvae have been found in 70 of these containers. She said that a special ward has been created in the government hospital and dengue victims are being admitted and treated for free.

Meanwhile, the Director of Health Department Dr. Hatinder Kaur inspected the campaign to sensitize people about dengue larvae in Phase-6 of Mohali. She sensitized the students and teachers at Shivalik Public School about the prevention of dengue, chikungunya, and malaria and urged the parents to contribute to the fight against dengue.
