Tarn Taran district arrests suspicious person with narcotics

Tarn Taran : During the morning hours, acting on specific intelligence provided by BSF Intelligence Wing, BSF Ambush Party detected a suspicious flying object and subsequent sound of a consignment being dropped in the border area of Tarn Taran district.

At around 05:05 am, alert troops successfully recovered a packet suspected to contain heroin, weighing approximately 610 grams. The drugs were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and had a steel ring attached to it.

The recovery took place in an agricultural field adjacent to Nowshera Dhalla village in Tarn Taran district. After a detailed joint search operation by BSF and Punjab Police at around 07:15 am, a person hiding in a field near the site of recovery of narcotics was apprehended and is currently undergoing detailed interrogation.

This successful operation, based on credible intelligence and alertness of BSF personnel, foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from across the border.
