Punjabi Singer Gurdas Mann Challenges Escalates

Punjab: The troubles of famous Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan are not showing any signs of abating. In the year 2021, an FIR was lodged by the Sikh community in the case of Gurdas Maan calling Ladi Sai Ji, who was the presiding deity of the Dargah at Nakodar, as a descendant of Shri Guru Amardas Ji Maharaj.

Which was ordered to be canceled by Nakodar Court. But, the person who lodged the FIR has challenged the said decision of the Nakodar Court in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Accepting the petition of the said person named Harjinder Singh alias Zinda, the High Court has issued a notice to all the concerned parties. By issuing notice, the High Court has sought reply from all the parties by June 13. The petitioner has clarified that Gurdas Maan described Ladi Sai as a descendant of Sri Guru Amardas Ji, which has hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.

Mann had apologized live on social media. Gurdas Maan had apologized for the above comment.

When this matter became more heated, Gurdas Mann went live and apologized on his social media account. In which Gurdas Maan had said that the Sikh Sangat should forgive me. He can never even think of insulting his Guru. I have learned a lot from my gurus, it is not my intention to adopt them, nor was it my intention.

Gurdas Maan had said that the critic of a saint is a great murderer. Guru Sahibans cannot be compared with anyone. I had definitely mentioned that Shri Guru Amardas Ji Maharaj was born in a good family and my Sai Ji was also born in a good family in Nakodar. If my words had hurt anyone, I would have apologized 100 times.

This is how the controversy over registration of case against Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan escalated.

20 August Mann made objectionable remarks at the Nakodar fair. 21 August Sikh organizations started protesting.

In the year 2021, Gurdas Mann had said in the Nakodar Dera Baba Murad Shah fair that Ladi Shah, who was the ruler of the dera, was a descendant of the third Patshahi Guru Amardas ji. When its video surfaced, Sikh organizations got furious.

After protesting in the police station and SSP office, they surrounded the National Highway. After which the police had registered a case against Mann for hurting religious sentiments. Effigies of Gurdas Mann were also burnt. But Mann released a video and apologized to the Sangat.
