Under operation Eagle, Half Kg heroin recovered in Tarn Taran from drug smuggler’s hideouts

Tarn Taran: Operation Eagle was launched by the police against drug smugglers in district Tarn Taran adjacent to the Pakistan border. Under which the police and the team of Special Operation Group searched the houses of suspects in a dozen areas. During this search, half a kilo of heroin was recovered from Sarai Amanat Khan village adjacent to the border.

Raids were conducted at the smugglers’ hideouts under the leadership of DIG Ajay Maluja and SSP Ashwani Kapoor of Ferozepur Range. During this, a large team of 700 police personnel searched for drug smugglers and suspects.

DIG Ferozepur Range Ajay Maluja and SSP Ashwani Kapoor warned the smugglers and said that they should stop selling drugs or else prepare for jail. He said that a list of A and B category smugglers has been prepared by the police and raids are being conducted continuously at their hideouts.

The DIG said that searches have been carried out in a dozen areas including the border villages of Tarn Taran, Sarai Amanat Khan, Muradpura Mohalla, Noordi.

SSP Ashwani Kapoor said that so far this year, 50 kg of heroin and about 90 drones coming from across the border have been recovered and about 250 smugglers have been arrested.
