Mohali: The matter of the vandalization of BR Ambedkar statue in Amritsar, Punjab has heated up. BJP staged silent protests across Punjab today on this issue. In Mohali, BJP leaders are protesting by tying black bands on their mouths. At the same time, protests are going on in all the districts including Jalandhar.
This protest is being held at the divisional level. All the big leaders, former ministers, former MPs, and MLAs are taking part in it. Mohali BJP chief Sanjeev Vashisht said that the atmosphere in Punjab is deteriorating. Earlier there were continuous attacks on police stations. Now Ambedkar Saheb’s statue has been damaged. He said that right now BJP has held a silent protest. If needed, BJP leaders will take to the streets and protest against AAP.
BJP leader Anil Sareen said that the Amritsar incident is very sad and condemnable. In protest, BJP decided to demonstrate with silent protest.

At the same time, the Dalit community has called for a bandh in many places including Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Hoshiarpur in Punjab.
