Under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs) a major action has been taken by the police in Sunam Udham Singh Wala of Sangrur district today.
Under the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign being run by the Punjab government, today, Sangrur Police under the leadership of SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal took a major action against drug smugglers in Sunam Udham Singh Wala city and demolished an illegal construction with a bulldozer.
SSP Sartaj Chahal said that the drug smuggler had occupied the land of the Marketing Committee and had built a house. As per police, in the construction of the house, black money earned from drugs had been used. Police also informed that he had made his residence here from where he used to sell liquor on a large scale.
Yesterday, illegal construction were razed in Barnala. A bulldozer was deployed by police to raze the house belonging to a mother-daughter duo, identified as Kali Kaur and her daughter Sarbo.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Barnala, Md. Sarfaraz Alam said that, Kali Kaur has 9 criminal cases registered against her, including 7 under the NDPS Act, while her daughter Sarbo faces 7 cases out of which 6 are under the NDPS Act.
