Chandigarh : Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that the state government is determined to put behind bars the killers of the young farmer Shubhkaran, who was killed during firing on the Khanauri border during the farmer’s movement. He said that exemplary punishment will be ensured to the persons responsible for the death of this youth.
CM Mann lamented that he was subjected to a ‘hateful tone’ when he was merely exercising his democratic right. He said that the persons responsible for this heinous crime do not deserve any leniency and they will be punished befitting their crime.
The Chief Minister said that FIR will be registered against the men responsible for the death of this youth after the investigation and exemplary punishment will be ensured. CM Mann said that even in this difficult time, the state government is standing with the breadwinners of Punjab, in whose path the anti-Punjab forces are putting obstacles so that they cannot go to the national capital to peacefully demonstrate for their legitimate demands.
He said that Punjabis have contributed immeasurably for the independence of the country, making the country self-reliant in terms of food grains and protecting the country’s borders, but despite this, Punjabis are being targeted, which is sheer injustice and bullying.
