Jalandhar, April 20: In a crackdown on drug abuse, the Jalandhar Rural Police arrested a young woman involved in drug consumption. The arrest was made by the team of SHO Gursharan Singh gill from Patara Police Station.
SHO Gurshsran SIngh informed that ASI Jeevan Kumar, with the help of the women police force, apprehended the girl from behind a bathroom near Darbar Baba Huzre Shah in Patara Village. The accused has been identified as Praveen Kumari alias Jyoti, a resident of Jaithewali Village, Ptara (Jalandhar).
FIR registered against the accused:
According to the information received, an FIR has been registered against the woman. The police recovered a silver foil containing heroin, a Rs. 10 note, a pipe, a steel bowl, and two lighters from the crime scene.
SHO Gursharan Singh added that Jyoti has been booked under sections related to drug consumption at Patara Police Station. As per the police, the accused has been involved in similar cases before, and previous FIRs for drug use have already been filed against her.
