This morning, the body of a youth was found hanging from an iron angle near a bus stop booth near Sherpur Chowk in Ludhiana. Passersby raised an alarm on seeing the body and immediately informed the police control room.
The police reached the spot and brought down the body, and started an investigation. Resident Shankar Yadav said that this could also be a case of robbery, as such incidents have happened in the area before. He suspected that the youth might have been killed and hanged.
A rope was tied around the neck of the deceased, the belt of his pants was open, and he was not wearing shoes. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants.
At present, the police is trying to identify the youth, but he has not been identified yet. Searches are also being conducted in the surrounding areas. The case is being investigated as suspicious.
The police will check the CCTV footage of the incident only after the nearby shops open during the day. The entire videography of the incident has been done by the police officers. ASI Preetpal Singh said that information was received in the morning that a dead body was hanging at the Sherpur bus stop.
The deceased has not been identified yet. The body of the deceased has been taken into custody and kept in the mortuary of the civil hospital for 72 hours. The real cause of death will be known only after the postmortem. At present, the case seems to be of suicide.
