Ludhiana: A tragic incident has come to light in Loht Baddi of Jagraon-Raikot in Ludhiana. A young man died under suspicious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as Iqbaljit Singh, who was missing since January 21.
Acting on the complaint of the deceased’s mother Harmeet Kaur, the police have arrested two accused – Udham Singh (resident Badundi) and Kulwinder Singh (resident Lohtbaddi). Kulwinder Singh’s mother Gurpreet Kaur is a panchayat member.
According to Lohtbaddi police post in-charge Gursevak Singh, the deceased’s mother had informed the police on January 22. During the investigation, the police recovered Iqbaljit’s body from Kulwinder Singh’s house.
Harmeet Kaur alleges that her son had drunk alcohol with both the accused, in which poisonous substance was mixed, due to which her son died. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police took immediate action and registered a case against both the accused and arrested them. The body has been sent for postmortem. The police is investigating the matter thoroughly.
