Under the preventive special campaign being conducted against drug smuggling and criminal elements, under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Harvinder Singh Virk, and under the leadership of Mr. Sarabjit Rai, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Jalandhar Rural Police, conducted anti-drug operations in various police stations.
Jalandhar Rural Police conducted a special cordon and search operation (CASO) under anti-drugs on April 18, 2025 from 4 pm to 8 pm. This operation, conducted under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Harvinder Singh Virk, covered many drug-affected areas of the district. The operation was conducted against drug trafficking under the NDPS Act, the Excise Act and other serious sections.
A total of 8 FIRs were registered and 9 persons were arrested during this operation. The police seized 50,500 ml of illicit liquor, 335 narcotic pills, silver paper, lighter, motorcycle and a fugitive criminal.
This CASO operation has proven to be another strong step towards breaking the supply chain of drugs, tightening the noose on drug trafficking and establishing a drug-free society. More such operations will be conducted continuously by Jalandhar Rural Police in the future.
