The weather in Haryana is bad on Wednesday as well. It rained in Faridabad and Palwal in the morning. Clouds are covering areas around Sonipat, Panipat, Jind, and Hisar. There is also a possibility of rain here.
The Meteorological Centre, Chandigarh, has issued a storm alert for areas around Panipat, Sonipat, and Mahendragarh until 10 AM. There is also a chance of light rain in other districts.
Due to the changes in weather over the past two days, the maximum temperature in the state has dropped by up to 3.7 degrees. This has given people some relief from the heat. Yesterday, the highest temperature was recorded in Rohtak at 41.3 degrees. In most districts of the state, the temperature has dropped by 2.1 to 5.4 degrees. However, the storm has affected daily life. In Hisar and Sirsa, the electricity was out for several hours at night.
Yellow alert of storm-rain in 11 districts
According to the Meteorological Department, today there is a possibility of strong storms and lightning with a speed of 50-60 km per hour in 11 districts: Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, and Nuh. In addition, winds with a speed of 40-50 km per hour and thunderstorms are expected in Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Rewari, and Mahendragarh.
Temperature crosses 40 degrees in three cities
According to the Meteorological Department data, the temperature has been recorded at 40 degrees Celsius or above in three cities of the state. The highest temperature was recorded in Rohtak at 41.3°C. Faridabad recorded 41.0°C and Narnaul 40.0°C.
Advisory for Farmers
Farmers have been issued an advisory to stop mustard harvesting and threshing work for the next 3-4 days considering the possibility of bad weather. Keep the harvested crop safely tied with ropes. Also, delay the sowing of cotton and vegetables (okra, ridge gourd, cucumber) for the next 3 days.
Due to changing weather, stop spraying pesticides for now and keep animals under shade during the day to protect them from heat and dusty winds, and hang jute curtains. Provide them with sufficient clean water and mineral mixture.
