Rajasthan Launches Outbound Portability for Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Scheme, Cashless Treatment Across India

Residents of Rajasthan can now avail cashless treatment up to ₹2.5 million at 31,000 government and private hospitals across the country under the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya (MAA) scheme. This includes coverage for minor surgeries as well as serious illnesses.

What Is Outbound Portability?

Interstate portability has been implemented under the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Yojana. Outbound portability allows patients from Rajasthan to travel to other states for treatment. Conversely, inbound portability permits patients from other states to receive treatment in Rajasthan. Before December 19, 2025, treatment under this scheme was restricted to hospitals within Rajasthan.

Within the first three months of portability implementation, over 1,000 patients have received treatment in hospitals across 15 states.

How to Avail Treatment in Another State

If a Rajasthan resident falls ill in another state, they can present their Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Scheme card at an authorized hospital. The hospital verifies the card through software, and upon approval from the Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, treatment begins with the same free benefits as in Rajasthan. The hospital and state must be authorized under a state or central government scheme.

Most Common Treatments Under Portability

  • PTCA (Heart Patients): 118 patients treated, costing over ₹1.24 crore.
  • Chronic Hemodialysis: 136 sessions for kidney patients, costing ₹2.91 lakh.
  • Kidney Stone Removal: 42 cases treated, costing approximately ₹19.56 lakh.
  • Laparoscopic Surgeries: 46 bile duct-related surgeries, costing ₹14 lakh.
  • Caesarean Delivery: 41 treatments, costing over ₹5 lakh.

Integration with Central Scheme

The Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Yojana is integrated with the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana, allowing beneficiaries to access treatment at any of the 31,000 registered hospitals nationwide. While the central scheme provides coverage up to ₹5 lakh, Rajasthan residents can receive treatment up to ₹25 lakh under the state scheme.

In the past two years, more than 37 lakh people in Rajasthan have received free treatment worth over ₹7,500 crore. The number of packages under the scheme has increased from 1,806 to 2,179, and empanelled hospitals have risen from 1,761 to 1,945.
