Rajasthan Police bust fake currency racket, Nab Criminal carrying Rs 10,000 reward from Gujarat

Jaipur: In a major breakthrough against a counterfeit currency network, Jhalawar Police arrested a notorious criminal, Amarchand alias Radhe Meena, who had been on the run for two years. He carried a reward of ₹10,000 on his head.

Arrest After Two Years on the Run

Amarchand, a resident of Richhwa village under Aklera Police Station, was finally nabbed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where he had been hiding under a false identity. Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar confirmed that he was wanted in multiple counterfeit currency cases across Rajasthan, Delhi, and other states.

Top-10 Wanted Criminal

Listed among the top 10 most wanted criminals at the police station, circle, and district levels, Amarchand had been absconding since 2023 after a case was registered against him at Aklera Police Station. His network was linked to large-scale manufacturing and circulation of fake notes.

Special Operation in Ahmedabad

A police team, led by SHO Bhupesh Sharma, traced him through technical surveillance and intelligence inputs. The raid was executed smoothly, with Head Constable Mahendra and Constables Lakhanlal, Dayalchand, and Kesaram forming the arrest team.

Wider Fake Currency Trail

Apart from Jhalawar, he was also wanted by Kotwali Ajmer Police, Beawar City Police in Ajmer district, and the New Delhi Crime Branch. Police said his interrogation is likely to reveal crucial leads about interstate fake currency rackets.

Recent Bust in Jaisalmer

The arrest comes weeks after Jaisalmer Police busted a counterfeit currency racket in August, arresting two accused with fake notes worth ₹67,000. The case was exposed when a local e-Mitra operator discovered that nine notes given for an online payment were counterfeit. The accused were identified as Mohammad Kumail alias Dhanu (23) of Bihar and Usman Qureshi (27) of Uttar Pradesh.
