Punjab Patiala police has registered a rape case of the pretext of marriage. The police has arrested the accused, Akshay, 30 years old, a resident of Dhuri Sangrur. After getting acquainted during studies in Patiala, Punjab, he became friends and later promised to marry her.
He remained in a relationship with the girl for months by promising marriage and had physical relations with her many times. After raping the 25-year-old girl, accused secretly got engaged to someone else.
When the girl came to know about this, she immediately talked to the accused, but he clearly denied to marry her. On the denial of the accused Akshay, girl had lodged complaint against him.
According to the victim, the accused first became close to her in the name of friendship and started promising marriage. In the name of marriage, the accused forcefully had made physical relation with her many times. Every time he agreed to marry her and raped her, but the accused’s behaviour had changed after some time.
He started procrastinating in the name of marriage, after which she came to know that he was already engaged to another girl. When she came to know this, she tried to talk to the boy, but he threatened her, due to which she complained to the police.
Investigating officer Inderjit Singh said that the accused Akshay has been arrested, he will be presented before the court on Sunday.
