The Silence wasn’t Absence…: RCB breaks 3-month silence over stampede during victory celebration

Nearly after three months RCB broke its silence over the stampede that took place outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.  On June 4, during the celebrations of IPL 2025 champions Royal Challengers Bangalore, which marked their first-ever win, a stampede occurred outside the venue in which 11 people died and 33 others were injured.

The RCB management was heavily criticized and called responsible for the mishap. The incident was widely condemned. The Karnataka government had accused Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), event organisers M/s DNA Networks Pvt Ltd and the state cricket association (KSCA) of taking out a huge victory parade of RCB without prior permission and without giving mandatory details to the city authorities.

Today, RCB broke its silence and announced the formation of RCB CARES. As per the release, RCB CARES is a platform for meaningful action shaped by the community & fans. It further stated that more details will be divulged soon.

In a post on X which came after June 5, RCB shared a heartful note and announced the formation of RCB cares. “𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. The Silence wasn’t Absence. That’s how 𝗥𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦 came to life. It grew out of a need to honour, to heal, and to stand beside our fans. A platform for meaningful action shaped by our community & fans. We return to this space today, not with celebration but with care. To share. To stand with you. To walk forward, together. To continue being the pride of Karnataka. 𝗥𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦. And we always will.
