The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a 7,500-page chargesheet against 10 accused in connection with the Red Fort area car bomb explosion case in New Delhi, according to an IANS report.
The case relates to a high-intensity vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) blast that occurred on November 10, 2025, near the Red Fort area, which reportedly killed 11 people and injured several others.
Chargesheet Details and Accused Named
As per the agency, the chargesheet includes 10 accused individuals allegedly linked to the conspiracy, including Dr Umer Un Nabi, who was identified as the suspected mastermind and is stated to have died in the explosion. Proceedings against him have been proposed to be abated.
The other accused named in the chargesheet are Aamir Rashid Mir, Jasir Bilal Wani, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Soyab, Dr Bilal Naseer Malla, and Yasir Ahmad Dar.
Investigation Spanning Multiple States
The investigation reportedly covers several states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Delhi-NCR. According to the NIA, the case is supported by witness statements, documentary evidence, and seized materials collected during the probe.
Officials further stated that forensic analysis, DNA matching, and technical investigations were used to identify key individuals involved in the case.
Charges and Legal Framework
The chargesheet has been filed under multiple provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
The agency also alleged links between the accused and extremist organizations such as Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) and Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), both of which are designated terrorist organizations in India.
Further court proceedings in the case are expected.
