Reliance announces Ten-Point Relief plan for Flood-hit Punjab

New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limited has unveiled a ten-point humanitarian relief programme to support communities devastated by recent floods in Punjab.

The initiative, covering nutrition, shelter, public health, and livestock care, will benefit more than 10,000 families in districts such as Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi.

“Our heart goes out to the people of Punjab in this hour of suffering. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and a sense of security. The entire Reliance family is standing with them—providing food, water, shelter kits, and care for both people and animals,” said Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited, underscoring the company’s commitment to relief efforts.

As part of the plan, Reliance is distributing dry ration kits and offering ₹5,000 voucher-based assistance to vulnerable households, including those led by elderly members or single women. Community kitchens are being stocked with provisions, while portable water filters are deployed in waterlogged areas to secure access to clean drinking water. Displaced families are also receiving emergency shelter kits comprising tarpaulins, bedding, mosquito nets, and ropes.

To mitigate health risks in the aftermath of flooding, the initiative includes awareness drives, disinfection of water sources, and distribution of hygiene kits. Reliance Foundation and its animal welfare arm, Vantara, are coordinating with the Animal Husbandry Department to run veterinary camps, distribute 3,000 silage bundles for nearly 5,000 cattle, and provide treatment for rescued animals.

In addition, Jio’s Punjab team has restored network connectivity in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), ensuring uninterrupted communication for relief operations across affected regions.

Reliance said the programme combines immediate relief with long-term resilience building, reflecting its broader “We Care” philosophy of standing with communities during crises.
