Amritsar: Former Minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia arrived at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Thursday following the orders issued to 17 former ministers of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Punjab. Bikram Majithia apologized after bowing down at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He is among the 17 former ministers asked by Sri Akal Takht Sahib to provide clarification within 15 days. Majithia stated that he is willing to accept whatever punishment is imposed on him.
Bikram Majithia declined to answer any political questions when speaking to the media. He was asked about the internal conflict within the Akali Dal. When questioned about the other 16 former ministers, he stated that they are free to express their opinions. Today, he has arrived at Sri Akal Takht Sahib like a humble Sikh and is prepared to accept any punishment imposed on him.
Additionally, he advised the rebel group and others that Guru Sahib himself is present at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Therefore, in such a situation, they should not try to be cunning in front of Guru Sahib and should present themselves as humble Sikhs.
In the letter issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, it is written- You are informed that on 30 August 2024, a meeting of 5 Sikh Sahibans was held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. In which, being the cabinet minister of that time along with Shiromani Akali Dal, you are also equally responsible. For which you should give your explanation within 15 days by appearing personally at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
This letter also includes the names of Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia, Dr. Upinder Kaur, Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon, Gulzar Singh Ranike, Parminder Singh, Suchha Singh Langah, Janmeja Singh, Hira Singh, Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Sohan Singh, Daljit Singh, Sikander Singh Maluka, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Manpreet Singh Badal, Sharanjit Singh, Surjit Singh and Maheshindra Singh.
