On Tuesday night, social media was suddenly awash with rumours that Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan had died. Some posts also claimed that he had been shifted from Adiala Jail to an undisclosed location.
However, there has been no official confirmation of these claims, leading to widespread public confusion and concern about the situation.

Family barred from meeting, sisters protest outside jail
Imran Khan’s sisters – Aleema Khan, Noorin Niazi and Dr. Uzma Khan – have been trying to meet him for years, but the jail administration has repeatedly blocked them, citing security reasons.
On Monday night, the family was again barred from meeting him, following which the three sisters, along with their supporters, began a protest outside the jail.
The High Court has given permission to meet Imran
In March 2025, the Islamabad High Court had granted Imran Khan regular meetings with family and lawyers, but the jail administration is not following the order.
In October 2025, the court ordered the resumption of visits, yet his sisters have not been able to get a single visit till now.
Lathi-charge on Dharna protest, 71-year-old Nooreen Khan alleges “dragging by hair”
Women participating in the dharna alleged that Punjab police lathi-charged a peaceful protest.
71-year-old Nooreen Khan claimed that the police dragged her by her hair on the road, while several other women were also beaten and pushed.
Imran Khan has been in jail for 3 years.
Imran Khan faces more than 100 cases and has been in jail since August 2023. He has been sentenced to 14 years in prison in corruption cases, including charges of selling government gifts (the Toshakhana case) and leaking government secrets.
Imran is accused of selling billions of rupees worth of Pakistani government land to the Al-Qadir Trust at a low price. He was arrested in this case on May 9, 2023. Subsequently, several key military installations across the country were attacked.
Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a case against Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and six other individuals in the Al-Qadir Trust case in December 2023. However, when the case was filed against Imran Khan, he was already incarcerated in Adiala Jail in connection with the Toshakhana case.
Al-Qadir Trust case: A series of charges issued
Imran Khan is already in jail in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust scam.
According to Pakistani media, Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, billionaire Malik Riaz and Farah Gogi are prominently implicated in the case.
The government alleges that Imran Khan hid ₹40 billion he returned from Britain from the cabinet and invested it in the Al-Qadir Trust and the establishment of a religious university.
It is also alleged that Malik Riaz donated land worth billions and presented a diamond ring to Bushra Bibi, after which the cases against him were dropped.
According to Geo News, Imran Khan and his wife have been accused of taking bribes worth ₹1,955 crore.
