Jalandhar: In view of continuous heavy rainfall across Punjab over the past few days, the Jalandhar district administration has ordered the closure of all schools in the district on August 26, 2025.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal issued the directive on Monday, stating that the decision was taken after reviewing the situation and considering the safety of students. The incessant rainfall has caused waterlogging in several areas, disrupting normal life and raising concerns about the safe movement of children to schools.
“All government, private, and affiliated schools across Jalandhar district will remain closed on Tuesday,” the Deputy Commissioner said in the official order. He emphasized that the step was taken purely as a precaution to avoid any untoward incident during the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
The administration has directed the Education Department and school authorities to strictly comply with the order. Further updates will be issued after assessing weather conditions on Tuesday.
