Punjab Desk: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Punjab Shikhya Kranti” has given a new direction to Punjab’s government school system. Launched in 2022, the initiative has led to the establishment of 118 Schools of Eminence, developed at a cost of 231.74 crore.
These schools have now become symbols of quality education and modern learning facilities. The Schools of Eminence feature smart classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, swimming pools, tennis courts, and specialized instructors for co-curricular activities. Students from economically weaker backgrounds receive free coaching, uniforms, shoes, and transportation, ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to financial limitations.
The success of this initiative is evident from the achievements of its students 265 cleared JEE Mains, 44 qualified JEE Advanced, and 848 passed the NEET exam. Under the Chief Minister’s School Mentorship Program, civil officers are providing personalized guidance and mentorship to students. Additionally, Parent-Teacher Meetings held across 19,200 government schools saw participation from over 25 lakh parents, indicating a growing community involvement in the state’s education system. The Schools of Eminence are not just centers of learning—they represent a historic step toward ensuring equal opportunity and a bright future for every child in Punjab.
