Prayagraj: The troubles of Swami Avimukteshwarananda, who is facing allegations of sexual exploitation of minor students, are increasing. The medical report of the minor victims has confirmed rape. On Wednesday, the police conducted medical examinations of both minors. Complainant Ashutosh Brahmachari also claimed that the medical report confirmed the rape of the children.
Now, it is believed that the legal grip on Swami Avimukteshwarananda may tighten further. To avoid arrest, he has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Allahabad High Court, which will be heard by a single bench of Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha on Friday. The police will also present the medical report in the court in this case. If relief is not granted by the High Court, the police can arrest him at any time.
Case registered at Jhunsi Police Station
It is noteworthy that a case has been registered at Jhunsi Police Station under the POCSO Act against Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, his disciple Mukundanand Giri, and three unidentified individuals. This action was taken on the orders of the court. The names of Arvind Mishra and Prakash Upadhyay have also surfaced during the investigation.
Ashutosh Brahmachari has accused Swami Avimukteshwarananda, who was in the news for bathing at the Magh Mela, of sexually abusing two novices. A petition was filed in the district court under Section 173(4) of the Criminal Procedure Code. Additional District Judge (Rape and POCSO) Special Court Vinod Kumar Chaurasia ordered the Jhunsi police to register a case and investigate. Following this, the police have registered a case and begun the investigation.
Allegations dismissed as a conspiracy
Swami Avimukteshwarananda has dismissed the allegations of sexual abuse as a conspiracy. He stated that he will cooperate with the police in this matter. However, he also stated that the public lacks trust in the Uttar Pradesh Police, and therefore, the case should be investigated by police from another state.
