6 spas and massage centers closed in Jammu for violating rules

Jammu: The district administration in Jammu has closed six spas and massage centers for violating rules. Officials said on Sunday that the action was taken after several irregularities were found during an inspection.

The action followed a special inspection campaign conducted on the instructions of District Magistrate Rakesh Minhas, aimed at ensuring that such centers operate in accordance with the rules.

Inspection campaign conducted in the city

During the day-long campaign on Saturday, inspection teams, under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioners Ansuya Jamwal and Vidhu Shekhar, inspected several spas and massage centers in the district.

According to officials, during the inspection, some centers were found not to be following the guidelines issued by the administration, following which action was taken against them.

Notices issued to these spa centers

The centers issued notices include K Crystal Spa, Evergreen Thai Therapy Centre, Touch of Magic, The Bubble Spa, Golden Thai Unisex Spa, and Health Ayurveda Spa and Salon.

Officials stated that further police and legal action may be taken against the owners, managers, and employees of these establishments.

Numerous irregularities revealed during inspection

During the inspection, several irregularities were discovered. These included the lack of mandatory documents, the absence of display boards and site plans, cross-gender services, private cabins locked from the inside, the lack of employee identification cards, inadequate salary payment records, and the failure to maintain a customer register.

In addition, CCTV cameras were found to be malfunctioning at many locations.

Strict warning from the administration

Officials stated that action will be taken against those violating the rules under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The District Magistrate said that the administration’s stand is clear and the use of commercial establishments for illegal or immoral activities will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
